Forms, deadlines, plain answers.
Documents to download, detailed answers to the questions that keep coming back, and the longer pieces on what is changing in France.
Self-service
A lot goes faster when you already have it.
Running a structure in France calls for the same things again and again: a form for the next hire, a solid answer to something the authorities have just asked, the sequence of a handover.
This page gathers what can be settled without us. Anything that belongs to one particular field stays on that service page: two answers to the same question compete with each other instead of adding up.
What is missing here is missing because nobody has needed it yet. Write to us and it gets added.
Deep dives
Single questions, taken apart in full.
Subjects that will not fit into three sentences, and that stay put instead of ageing. Anything tied to a date sits under News.

E-invoicing in France: the full question set
From September 2026 an invoice between companies established in France can no longer be a PDF sent by email. Deadlines by company size, the difference between e-invoicing and e-reporting, and what has to be settled before a platform is even chosen.

On working together and on handovers.
The answers cover the ordinary case. An individual situation always deserves to be looked at on its own terms.
Working together
How does an engagement start?
With a first conversation, without obligation, in which you describe your French structure and what the parent company expects. Out of that comes a written scope: what we take on, what stays with you, and when each deadline falls.
That scope becomes the “lettre de mission”, which is mandatory in France and sets both the extent of the work and the fees attached to it.
Who will our contact be?
A settled team, not a queue. Whoever keeps your books also answers the phone, and knows your business without having to reopen the file first.
What language do we work in?
French, German or English, whichever suits you. Documents for the French authorities are drawn up in French because the law requires it. Reporting to your parent company can go out in another language.
How do the documents reach you?
By the route you already use. Many groups work in their own system, and then we keep the books inside it rather than putting another one alongside. What matters is that the route is defined once and then holds. See the systems
Handovers
We already have an accountant. How does the switch work?
The notice period is in your current engagement letter. After that we take over the balances, the opening entries, the open items and the fixed assets, and reconcile them before the first filing deadline. The full sequence
When in the year is it best to change?
Mid-year, at the end of a VAT period. Waiting for the closing looks tidier and rarely is: the outgoing firm then finishes a year it will not follow.
What if our accounts are behind?
Then the backlog is dealt with first, and it is quantified before anything starts. What costs money is rarely the catching up itself but what is hiding in it: a missing return, a VAT credit never claimed, a deadline that passed without anyone seeing it.
Do we need a French company to work with you?
No. A VAT registration, a branch or a subsidiary: all three occur among our engagements, and they do not mean the same work. See setting up in France
